This is the number one selling jazz single of all time, and was led by the inimitable Dave Brubeck, with a signature drum solo by all-star drummer Joe Morello, with more than a little help from bassist , and honorable Senator, Eugene Wright.

This feels great to play> I especially like the interplay between the implied 12-8 meter in measures 1, 3 etc. This implied 12-8 almost offers a double time contrast to the more traditional 6-8 measures like 2 & 4. A beautiful contrast of articulations and dynamics.

Wonderful use of glissandi, and different tonal centers. Reminiscent of Prokofiev and others…
